Marine Technical Services,
Incorporated is an expert in small craft construction, modification, and repair.
The company evolved from Mr. Heasley’s employment as the Director of Engineering
at a boat manufacturer in Washington State building commercial, work, and
government boats. In that position it was necessary to not only design and
engineer the vessel, but to provide construction management and quality
assurance support to the manufacturing process. In following years that
knowledge was used to support boat builders with the same services, as well as
expand into the marine survey trade to inspect and evaluate existing vessels as
well as new construction.
Pacific Marine Surveyors grew out of this background of construction and repair. At the end of two successful yacht reconstruction projects, during one of the frequent economic downturns in the marine industry, Mr. Heasley became an apprentice at a national marine survey firm which specialized in casualty surveys for insurance company. Two years later he became a partner is a local marine survey practice, which added experience in condition surveys for vessel purchase and insurance. In 1998, Mr. Heasley started Pacific Marine Surveyors.
Today, Marine Technical Services, Incorporated and Pacific Marine Surveyors provides a balance of services for all aspects of our practice. Each feature of our practice enhances the other. Our construction services help keep us on the cutting edge of marine construction, which provides a vast knowledge base for the marine survey practice. The marine survey practice uncovers the weakness in construction methods, helping tailor our construction services.
